Our Mission
Planetariums let us discover distant worlds and galaxies. The dome makes it possible for you to be completely immersed in the projection as if you were in the middle of the action. Until now, visitors have only been passive observers. However, we are going to change that!
KINETARIUM IS INTERACTIVE PLANETARIUM.
Everyone joins in and controls their avatar on the dome. Together, puzzles are solved, secrets are uncovered and high scores are cracked. A platform for playing and learning together. Hundreds of participants can take part in real time.
IMMERSIVE, INTERACTIVE, SOCIAL
Planetariums offer immersive experiences for groups, but until now, no possibility for interaction. We have closed this technological gap with the Kinetarium. This is unique in the world and offers completely new possibilities for shows and events.
In our Kinetarium shows, players engage with a wide variety of topics and also get to know each other in the process: They experience how difficult the simplest tasks can be when making decisions as a group, coordination, team spirit and compromises are required. Along the way, the games also trigger learning processes about group dynamics or social behaviour.
Multiplayer Events
Kinetarium is a platform for interactive, collaborative events. What is special about it: Hundreds of players can play together live, but are not spatially separated. The dome becomes an arena.
Apart from the pure fun factor, we offer an opportunity to approach scientific topics from a completely new angle: as a curious group of researchers. And in real time. Every visitor can directly and immediately intervene in the dome projection with his/her own smartphone.
Participation instead of classroom teaching style. Learning by gaming. We believe that you have to actually do something in order to understand it properly. The visitors decide which course to take. Team spirit or competition, alliances or confrontations, swarm intelligence or total chaos. Kinetarium is different every time.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Our mission: make participation as simple as possible.
Visitors already have the controller in their pocket: their own smartphone. They use it to open the website with the controller interface. The players appear on the dome as rockets, caterpillars, fish or soccer players. Now everyone is ready to go – and the fun begins!
Setting up the Kinetarium in the planetarium is also very easy. The Kinetarium software is installed on the computer that controls the Fulldome projection. This contains all Kinetarium shows and games and can be started with just a few clicks. The visitors’ inputs are transmitted to the software via a server connection. They are displayed in real time in the projection.

Kinetarium was developed by halbautomaten. We want to create moments that connect and inspire people. We believe you can put complex content into a format that makes it comprehensible.
